Nanette Inventor

Actress • Host • Singer • Comedienne • Commercial Model

Twenty-seven years in the business and still counting NANETTE INVENTOR has firmly established herself as a multi-faceted performer: singer, comedienne, television and live host, recording artist and television ad model.

NANETTE started her singing career as a member of the UP Concert Chorus then went on to become a professional back-up singer with the group, "Filipina." From there, she branched out into voicing for radio and television commercial jingles and doing cover versions of foreign hits. NANETTE's singing career reached a new high when she interpreted Gary Granada's "Salamat Musika" at the 7th Metro Manila Pop Music Festival and walked off with the top prize. NANETTE continues to sing in the country's top lounges, in concerts, and television variety shows, and released her very own album under Universal Records entitled "Sumpong."

In 1983, her career took a pleasant unexpected turn when she was tapped to do a social satire portion in Channel 7's "Penthouse Live" as the noveau rich "Dona Leonila Evaporada Viuda de Ford" or "Dona Buding." The character was a phenomenal success and the comedienne in NANETTE was born. This facet was honed with succeeding stand-up comedy acts – notably "TIT FOR TAT" with Mitch Valdes. It won in 1984 Aliw Award for Best Stand-Up Comedy acts. Other acts with fellow comedians were the 1992 "ROCK DA VOTE" Series, "EH KASI, EH ANO?" "EH KASI, ANO BA IYAN?" "BEST OF THE BEST" and the 1995 version of "ROCK DA VOTE" where she exhibited her exemplary acting as "Miriam Defensive."
Her solo concerts - - "BUDING FOR MAYOR," "BUDING AT RIZAL," "FAT AT F.A.T," and her 12th Year Anniversary Concert at the Music Museum entitled "ISANG DOSENANG SARAP" and her 20th anniversary show "FAT, FIFTY AND FABULOUS" at On Stage, Greenbelt, Makati – are a showcase of her combined talents in singing, dancing, and her ability to evoke laughter.

NANETTE was a mainstay on such TV shows as "POR KILO," "IN THE MONEY," and "ABANGAN ANG SUSUNOD NA KABANATA" and to date, iss a frequent guest on various TV drama anthologies, telecines, TV specials and one of the favorite judges of singing contests for kids. She was the sarcastic mother-in-law of Benjie Paras on the new TV sitcom FAMILY ZOO aired on QTV 11. Other hit TV shows she did were DYESEBEL and PANDAY KIDS with GMA 7 and FLASH BOMBA and PANGARAP NA BITUIN with ABS CBN. To date, she just finished doing the hit daily reality game show, YAMAN NI LOLA playing as the very wealthy but generous and kind-hearted Lola Barbie.

NANETTE has performed all over the country and has entertained audiences in the US, Italy, Singapore,Malaysia, Australia, the Middle East, HongKong, Guam, with a memorable performance at the Carnegie Hall in New York City.

As a theatre actress, NANETTE has performed in "HONK," "THE WIZ," "NOLI ME TANGERE," "EL FILIBUSTERISMO," and "SEPARASYON," the Carlos Palanca Award-winning play by Lito Casaje. She has also done over a dozen movies receiving a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her performance in 'MULTO IN THE CITY." Touted as "the actress who can make you laugh or cry," "the singer who can make you laugh," "comedienne who can sing," or "the host who can do all of the above" Nanette Inventor is truly a cut above the rest.
