An artist. A Filipino. A Woman. A Person. A Mother. She has had her share of honours gained for the Philippines of which her playing the role of Kim in Cameron Mackintosh's award-winning musicale MISS SAIGON is the most celebrated so far. Jamie's actual training began when she joined the Metropolitan Theatre Chorus in 1985. She decided to pursue her solo singing career by winning the prestigious search for G.A. Yupangco's Yamaha Music Mate Girls contests while finishing her Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree Major in Economics at the University of Santo Tomas in 1996. Soon after, Octo Arts International recorded her 1st album entitled Hey it's me which was also the title of her first major concert held at her mother theatre, The Metropolitan Theatre. She was able to complete five original albums for the same recording company. Her hit songs include Mahal naman kita, I've Fallen for You, Awit Para Sa'yo and many more. She also became a recipient of various awards, including the Guillermo Mendoza Award for the Most Promising Female Entertainer of the Year, 1988. Best New Recording Artist, 1989 for the First Awit Awards.

Jamie proved that she cannot only hold jet-set and sophisticated Britons as a captive audience but Asians as well. As the female lead and the only Filipino of a 22-member cast in the musicale "Bugis Street", Jamie played opposite Singaporean actor George Chan. The musicale was staged in Kallang Theatre in Singapore and in Harbour theatre in Hong Kong. She also did 2 other Filipino musicals namely "Magsimula ka" by Gines Tan held at the CCP Main Theatre and "Tsinoy" held at the PICC Plenary Hall.

In 1996, Jamie signed a recording contract with STAR RECORDS and was able to record 2 pop albums namely "Once more", "Feels so right", "At Her Best" and 7 inspirational albums. Jamie's first inspirational recording Jubilee Song has brought her to different parts of the Philippines not only to promote the album but to enlighten the people about the celebration of the 2000th birthday of Jesus Christ and what it meant to the whole humanity. She was invited by the Senate to sing her latest song "Heal our Land" in the impeachment trial to encourage the whole country to pray to our Lord for our bleeding country. Thus the song was indorsed by His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin to be sang by all the church all over the Philippines. She also sang the theme song of the movie Tanging Yaman. In preparation for the 4th World Meeting of Families in January 2003, Jamie again, under Star Records, produced the album and sang "Only Selfless Love" composed by Fr. Carlo Magno Marcelo (also the composer of The Jubilee Song), the theme song of the international event. The album reached the platinum status and very soon after she again produced the new album entitled "Mysterias Lucis; Mysteries of light", ( for the newly added Luminous mystery of the Holy Rosary). She sang the official theme song for the Year of the Holy Rosary entitled "Awit sa Ina ng Santo Rosario" again by Fr. Carlo Magno Marcelo. Jamie was inspired by the book Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and soon gathered all the possible materials to make an album and thus in January of 2005 album became certified Platinum.

Jamie is now the spoke person of the SOS (Save our Souls) children's village. A home that provides education, love, support, foster mothers to orphans all over the world. She knows that God placed her in this career so He can use her to create awareness that there are people out there who needs help and caring. She is currently promoting the song "In my Life" from the album HOPE (Healing of Pain and Enlightenment) and all the proceeds of the album will be going to two foundation formed to support cancer patients and cancer survivors namely "I can serve foundation" and "Bossom Buddies". True enough there will always be ups and downs in one's life but she believe that everything happens for a purpose. She knows that there are plenty of purposes in her life but one is very obvious and that is to sing for God's glory. No wonder she is called "The Inspirational Diva."
