     After launching their self-titled debut album under NuGen Music late last year with its carrier single “Umaga” and being featured as MTV Pilipinas Rising Star for December 2006, Salamin is now poised to make the rounds this summer with their second single “Pulso.” Vocalist Paolo Valenciano co-wrote “Pulso” with his good friend JR Enrile. “The song is about opening your eyes to what’s happening in the country, not to sit down and do nothing,” Paolo reveals, and shares that his co-writer believes one way of encouraging people to act is through music and songs like “Pulso.”

     The new music video,“Pulso”, directed by Marla Ancheta will be launched soon and will be viewed on MYX, MTV Pilipinas and other music channels. The song has also been receiving radio airplay. Other songs from the album include: “Love You Lie,” “Euphoria,” “Midnight Silence,” “Maskara,” “Flight,” “Drone,” “Perfecto,” “Kalawakan” and “Art of Preludes” with the special participation of Mr. Gary Valenciano.

     Salamin is composed of Paolo Valenciano on vocals, EO Marcos on drums, Miks Bersales on bass, with new members Nandro Dualan and Sho Hikino on guitars. Salamin has opened for Bamboo, as well as Barbie Almabis at her solo concert in Araneta Coliseum last year. They also performed in front of the 50,000-strong crowd at MyxMO! 2006 and an even bigger crowd at Gawad Kalinga. Most recently, Salamin played at the launch for radio station 99.5 Hit FM this March.
