Gary V At Ease: A Soldier’s Tribute
Mega Tent in Meralco Avenue, Pasig City
July 31, 2009
    |     7:30 pm

“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” To serve one’s country is a privilege that not everyone is given. For the men and women of our armed forces the cost to serve one’s country is high.  To go through the rigors and trials of military service and to come out of it alive, that is an experience that no soldier will ever forget.

For the members of the Business, Industry & Retired Cavaliers, Inc. (BIRCI), an affiliate of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, it is but timely that they pay tribute to their comrades in arms who are still around. And what better way to do this than through a fund raising event that would directly benefit these veterans. So on July 31, 2009 at 7:30 pm, BIRCI, in cooperation with GV Productions and Manila Genesis Entertainment, will be staging GARY V…AT EASE at the Mega Tent in Meralco Avenue, Pasig City.

Through the guiding leadership of BIRCI Chairman Gen. Galileo C. Kintanar (class ’60), President Fiorello S. Adriano (class’70), outgoing Chairman Capt. Benny Lomotan (class’59) and Special Projects Committee Chairman Brig.Gen. Frank Gudani (class’73) and the unfailing support of AFP Chief of Staff General Victor Ibrado and PNP Director General Jesus Verzosa, the concert will pay tribute to the members of PMA Class 1937 to 1945. These are the cavaliers (as what the members are called) who fought bravely in our country’s defense during World War II.

Artist Profile
Gary Valenciano

Today these living heroes are badly in need of medical assistance and the proceeds of the concert will primarily be used to establish a medical and diagnostic clinic specializing on the most common medical problems of retirees.

The choice of Gary V as the singer for their fundraiser was unanimous. The National Ambassador of Unicef for 11 years now, Gary Valenciano has been very active in various causes and is himself victoriously battling Type 1 insulin-dependent diabetes for 31 years.  Recently awarded Entertainer of the Year by DWRR For Life’s Waki Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award and the Best Pop Male Artist by the First Radio Music Awards as well as the Best Concert Performer for his critically acclaimed Live At 25 by the Guillermo Mendoza Foundation, ASAP’s lead male artist has shown that despite all odds, one can achieve excellence in one’s craft with diligence, hard work, patience, determination and God’s grace.  Partnering with the passionate military men who wanted to honor the unsung heroes of the country was warmly welcomed by Gary who has asked his talented sons, Gabriel and Paolo to join him in the concert that will inspire the crowd on July 31.
Tickets for the concert are priced at P5,000, P3,000, P1,500 , P1,000 and P500. Tickets are available at Ticketworld outlets (891-9999) and the PMA Alumni Center (Tel: 912-50-74).
GARY V AT EASE is supported by its partners like BusinessWorld, 105.1 Crossover, 103.5 Max FM, 91.5 Energy FM, Fish & Company, Lamesa Grill, Studio V, Soundcheck, Essensuals Toni and Guy, ASAP ’09 and produced by GV Productions Inc. and Manila Genesis Entertainment and Management.
